Bryce, Thanks for the post and suggestions.

Another VMWare related product I recently came across is SandboxIE @ http://www.sandboxie.com/ I haven't tried it and don't intend to as I own VMWare, but it seems interesting.

Alex Feinman's ISO Recorder is a great tool for burning and ripping ISOs. Donationware, no nags.

For the Virtual PC / VMware types, Virtual Floppy Drive is also quite handy.

Hi Jason,
I am a fanatic about backups and do online backups several times a day. I've tried some of the commercial services such as iBackup in the past and found them too slow and unreliable to be of practical use.

I also backup to other PC's, two external USB Drives and Memory sticks and CD/DVDs.

I touched a bit on this here: http://blog.surfulater.com/2005/06/09/securing-information/

Why don't you use an <a HREF="http://www.ibackup.com" rel="nofollow">online backup</a>
solution and backup these important data there? The fire proof safe may not be
the best option always..

A great tip. btw I used Belarc Advisor (http://www.belarc.com/free_download.html) to completely identify programs on my desktop to ensure that transfer to my laptop would be complete. This survey triggered a successful hunt for a few more program CDs.
