Hi Ken,
Several users have created Templates from scratch as you probably read on the forums. This is a bit cumbersome but clearly doable.

We plan to enable creation of new templates, as well as adding/editing/removing fields from existing templates within Surfulater, in a future release, which is what I alluded to in "This is a precursor to more advanced template editing and creation to come." in this blog post. I'm afraid I can't give you a specific schedule for this at present.

I am a long time Ecco user, and several recent posts at Outlinersoftware.com mentioned your program. I downloaded a trial copy, but did not see a feature that I was looking for - user defined fields in your templates. This feature was mentioned as a future addition to the program in your forum's posts, but I was wondering if, and when, it might be incorporated into the program. I would find it especially helpful as it would allow me to create fields, like in Ecco, that meet my specific needs, and that would be displayed in any view. Any information would be greatly appreciated.

Sincerely,

"Taking an analogy with a Book, you can think of Folders as the Table of Contents and Tags as the Index. Well that is an epiphany I had recently."

Thats really a great analogy, never thought of it like that before.

V3 looks fantastic :D
